The EMC facilities in Hassi Messaoud consists in an emergency and
stabilization care unit on the site of the AGIP refinery, and a medical
center specialized in occupational and prevention medecine. The
emergency care unit in place since 2001, serves the totality of the 1,500 expatriate
refinery
employees, and expatriate subcontractors working onsite.
The adjoining occupational medicine center has served in eight years about
10,000 patients.
Since 2003, EMC
is a major provider of medical care in Chad. The EMC clinic in N'Djamena
tenders general, emergency, preventive and occupational medicine
services to private patients as well as employees of local firms and
public administrations. The clinic provides a spectrum of services ranging from
emergency health care, to diverse training programs about
major local public health issues (hygiene, HIV prevention, control of
pandemic infectious or parasitic diseases such as
paludism), through classical occupational medicine (screening,
treatments, yearly examinations).
Situated at Port Harcourt,
in the heart of the oil sector in the Niger Delta, the EMC clinic is
operational since 2002. This clinic provides health care for on shore
oil operations as well as off shore platforms. The clinic functions
24/24 and includes an intensive care unit, a surgery room, several
observation rooms, and laboratories (radiology, hematology, etc..) and
is equipped with an ambulance specialized in resuscitation.
This clinic is situated near the international airport in Port Harcourt,
and is linked to it by a permanent and dedicated access. |
